Brow Ptosis

Brow Ptosis | Eyelid Surgery | Palm Desert | Palm Springs

Ptosis may also affect the eyebrows. When the brows fall or sag, they can interfere with the upper field of vision. Symptoms include a decreased ability to keep the eyes open, eyestrain, and eyebrow fatigue from the increased effort needed to raise the drooping brows.  This contributes to the appearance of an aging face.

In most cases, an outpatient procedure can be performed to raise the eyebrows. Dr. Hui will discuss the options with you and help you choose the procedure that is most appropriate for you. Your insurance plan may cover brow ptosis repair. A short visit consisting of examination, visual field testing and photography will help to determine if this is a covered procedure.

Recovery:  Brow ptosis repair is performed on an outpatient basis.  For the first few days after the procedure Dr. Hui will ask that you apply ice packs and cool compresses to minimize the swelling.  Most patients experience minimal discomfort and are able to return to their normal routine in approximately 1 week.
